Postman

Alfred the Postman is unlocked at Level 15 and is the means by which you are rewarded for helping out at other players’ farms. If you fill a crate or revive a tree, the player who you have helped will receive an envelope with your avatar on it. If they click on the envelope, if it was a crate, or double click if it was a tree, they will send a thank you letter that may contain a gift card.

Follow these instructions in reverse if you want to give thanks to someone that has helped you. To collect the thank you letters, click on the postbox – you will see a pile of envelopes. Then, either click ‘collect all’ to receive all gift cards and envelopes in one, or to examine each one, swipe the letters upwards slowly.

Once you have all the gift cards you need, you can choose a package from the catalogue and Alfred will deliver it.

Note: You can receive a maximum of 30 envelopes and 5 gift cards each day. The ratio of gift cards to envelopes also roughly follows that – around one in five envelopes should have a gift card. You can store up to 60 before Alfred will stop delivering until you empty the mailbox.

Decorations

Decorations do not have a significant impact in Hay Day, rather they are there to help differentiate your farm from everyone else’s – which is actually quite a good thing when you think about it. You want people to be visiting your farm and buying from your Roadside Shop.

Below you will find a list of the Decorations in Hay Day, and the level at which you can unlock them. Note that the chief reason for purchasing these, apart from the fact that they look good, is that they give you an instant XP boost.

Placing a heart-shaped bush may seem irrelevant, but it does give you an XP boost

Land Expansions

If you find that you are getting tight for space in Hay Day, you will be pleased to know that you are able to unlock Land Expansions once you reach Level 22. You should not really need to expand before or even soon after this point, as the developers generously give you more than enough room to work with. However, should you get to the stage where you need to expand, you will have to find a certain amount of supplies to be able to purchase each expansion section. Each of which is fairly small. You have a small chance of finding one of these items (Mallets, Land Deeds and Marker Stakes) whenever you collect an item or harvest, and in mystery crates. Some players may also sell them, though they will fetch a high price.
After this point, players are required to find a certain quantity of supplies to purchase expansion sections. Like other supplies, Expansion Supplies are found during collecting and harvesting or in lock boxes. Expansion supplies are occasionally found for sale but can be very

expensive.
Increasing Storage
Perhaps the most infuriating part of Hay Day is the way players are curtailed by the limited size of Barns and Silos. It is strongly recommended that you save your Diamonds for purchasing the raw materials needed to increase the size of the Barn and Silo, as some of the items can be very scarce to come by.Tap the Barn/Silo and then click on the increase storage option. You will then see all of the items that you need to be able to upgrade. Nails, Wood, Planks and so on. These are found whenever you collect an item, harvest a crop, or check a mystery crate. The chances of finding them are slim, but you may be able to find them for sale from another player if you get lucky.
